The Criminology Department of Southern City Colleges was founded in 2001 with 76 students and aspires to be a self-contained educational institution dedicated to training professionally competent and morally upright graduates who are endowed with knowledge, skills, values and discipline.

It aims to provide a cutting-edge educational program for students that will enable them to develop their skills and provide efficient and effective services in the fields of crime prevention, crime detection and investigation, law enforcement, public safety, custody and rehabilitation of offenders, security administration, and criminological research.

From its humble beginnings, it has produced hundreds of graduates who are now working in law enforcement, academia, and security. As a result, it will continue to produce more qualified graduates.

Today, the department has a total population of 844 students and is working hard to be the first choice in the criminology program in Zamboanga City.
